Dereham Baptist Church Beliefs
A Baptist Church is a community of believers who hold common convictions about the practice of their beliefs. These are:
- The Bible
- Forgiveness and New Life
- The trinity
- The Holy Spirit
- Church Membership
- Government of a Baptist Church
- The Church
The Bible
The central common belief is that God has inspired and preserved the Bible for us as a resource of timeless truth. We believe that God has spoken to Christians down through the ages and continues to do so through their study and interpretation of His written Word.
A striking feature of our story is the way separate groups, studying the Bible for themselves, have come to a common understanding of the nature of the church that we hold today. These groups, arising in different places and at different times, have not always held other beliefs in common.
