Dereham Baptist Church Beliefs
A Baptist Church is a community of believers who hold common convictions about the practice of their beliefs. These are:

Forgiveness and New Life
Every person is separated from God because of that person's own sin inherited from the first man, Adam. However, the story running through the Bible is the story of God's love for men and women and his desire to make each person fit to live with him into eternity.
The Bible centres on the death and resurrection of God's own son, Jesus, prophesied in the Old Testament and explained in the New Testament as the only way for us to secure forgiveness for our the things we do wrong.
We must repent of our behaviour when it goes against the Bible, turning from our own way and beginning to God's way. As we confess our sin and realise our need for forgiveness, we accept this forgiveness, bought only because of Christ's death on the cross A restored relationship with God cannot be earned by Good works - it is a free gift from God.
