Extensive renovation for Dereham Baptist Church
Minister Rev Chris Densham. Picture: Matthew Usher (EDP 24).
The congregation of Dereham Baptist Church in the High Street will had their last service in the building on Sunday before moving to the town’s Northgate High School while the work is carried out. The project - which is likely to be completed in May - will involve the downstairs pews being removed and slope of the floor being levelled. The replacement floor will also mean that the steps at the front entrance can be removed with a level access being created for disabled users. Read more >

What an amazing day!
Gabby Pritchard being baptised
On the 10th of July DBC went to the beach at Wells next the Sea for its first baptismal service at the sea for many years.
The church took its main service of the day to the beach. Around 130 worshipers enjoyed an amazing day.
Around 130 worshipers enjoyed an amazing day
The main reason for going to the beach was for the baptism of Gabi Prichard. Gabi gave her testimony on the beach, in front of the church and several beach goers who listened in. After the service, most stayed for a great time on the beach in the sun.
Take a look at the church gallery to see some pictures from the day

Bus gift gets Norfolk Christian project moving
The bus that was offered to the project from Stagecoach
A bus from Stagecoach East has been donated to a Norfolk Christian youth charity for them to run their outreach work. They are now appealing for a parking place for the bus and a generator so their vital work with vulnerable young people can continue.
The donation comes after over a year of praying for a vehicle for the SPLAG project. SPLAG aims to reach the young people of Mid-Norfolk with God’s love wherever there is a need through providing information, advice and support. SPLAG will focus on anti-social behaviour hotspots and work in partnership with local councils, churches, police and Safer Neighbourhood Teams.
When the project was set up over a year ago, the founders were adamant that it would be funded by God’s provision rather than secular grants so the Christian ethos would not be compromised. Read more >

Visit from Bulgaria
Pr. Ventzi and his wife Jenia at DBC
It was a real joy to welcome Ventzi & Jenia Mitev, together with Stacy Ivanova who acted as translator on their recent visit. They were able to be part of our bi-Lingual Anniversary Service and Fun Day on May 8th . Whilst here they enjoyed a trip to Sandringham and a day in Norwich, as well as time with those who have visited Bulgaria.
Pr. Ventzi, his wife Jenia and Stacy at DBC
On Tuesday May 10th Ventzi was able to share with the church something of his joys and struggles as a Pastor in Aksakovo, and a good time of prayer and fellowship followed. We look forward to an on-going fruitful relationship with Ventzi, Jenia and the church in Aksakovo.

Word of Encouragement
“Down Dereham High St from the Wilkinson’s end I saw a giant vine creeping. Its branches went into every window and door. It went into the church, down to the market place. It grew strong and steadily throughout the town." At this point the speaker said: “We and God have a rhythm to work to. It is God’s pace and if we work to it the vine will grow strongly”.
