Refurbishment

The main aspects of the refurbishment are:

• Rewire the whole church and fit new lighting on both levels.
• Remove existing heating and replace with under floor heating and fit new heating into the back meeting rooms on both floors.
• Strengthening the ceiling.
• Repair or replace all of the wooden window frames.
• Redecorate the complete worship area.
• Strip the external front façade back to brickwork as required, re-point the brick work and then recoat.
• Repair and replace the central balcony pews.
• Strip & clean remaining balcony pews.

Redevelopment

The main aspects of the redevelopment are:

• Remove the existing downstairs pews and replace with individual stackable chairs.
• Remove the current slopping floor and create level flooring in the worship area.
• Create level access to the front of the church with a new glassed vestibule area.
• Create new access between the worship area and the back hall.
• Remove the current organ and refit the pulpit.

Sunday Services

During the redevelopment the main worship area of the Church will be closed for up to five months. Over that time the majority of the 10.30 services will be held at Northgate High School.

This will include, Kids Church and Youth Church. On the weeks that the school is not available there is a program of events when the Church will be more visible in the local community. The 9.00 am service which is on the 2nd and last Sundays of the month will still be held at DBC in the back hall. Download the program for more details.
