He who forms the mountains, who creates the wind, and who reveals his thoughts to mankind, who turns dawn to darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth – the Lord God Almighty is his name. Amos 4:13
Thank you to those of you who sent me emails telling me about favourite mountain moments in the Bible - it was great to hear from you.
In today's message we'll be looking at Mark 3:23-26 where Jesus challenges the Pharisees and teachers of the law who accuse him of driving out demons by the Prince of demons. Have you ever been accused of a bizarre thing? I was once accused of trying to break in to Reading prison...but that's another story. But, how does Jesus respond to those who are accusing him? Next week there is a youth camp going on which some of our wonderful young people are part of. In total there are 54 booked in and a number from DBC are involved in making it happen by providing the catering for the camp. I'd like to invite you to be involved in this camp too. There are two ways you can help. 1) Pray. Please pray that these young people encounter Jesus, have fun and are further challenged / encouraged / equipped to live out their faith in an ever complex-to-navigate world. 2) Make cakes. Are you willing and able to bake a cake (or cakes) for the event? If so, can you please bring it to church on Sunday morning where we can collect them and take them to the camp the following day. Then the young people can experience Mark 6:42
Love and blessings,
Dave
