Sunday 12th November 2023

He will judge between the nations

and will settle disputes for many peoples.

They will beat their swords into plowshares

and their spears into pruning hooks.

Nation will not take up sword against nation,

nor will they train for war anymore. Isaiah 2:4

A time is coming when war will be no more. That will be when Christ returns.

In the meantime, let's pause and remember those who have given their lives in battles for the sake of the freedom which others enjoy, and which we enjoy.

It is good to thank God for the liberty he has given us to freely worship him this morning, something we can easily take for granted, and to pray for peace in the war-torn areas of the world like Israel/Gaza, Ukraine, Mali and number of other places.

Today at 9.30 we have our remembrance service at the DBC building followed by the opportunity to go to the cenotaph for a town-wide remembrance parade and service.

At Toftwood Village Hall we have Fishes Sunday from 10am

Nigel is away on retreat this week and Dave also has 2 days retreat on Wednesday / Thursday this week.

May you remember the one who gave himself for you this day as you remember others.

Love and Blessings,

Dave
