The days are coming,' declares the Lord, 'when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely & do what is just and right in the land. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety.
Jeremiah 23:5-6
As I mentioned in Wednesday's email, today we start a 2-week Advent miniseries called 'The Coming King'. Have you had the chance to take a look at some of the Old Testament prophecies that speak of the Messiah? Who is the one that is promised in the Old Testament prophecies? What is he coming to do and how will he do it? Come along this morning to find out! And if you can't make it today, then the service is being livestreamed, and you can engage with it by CLICKING HERE. The service will also include communion.
Following that, at 4pm, we have a 'Time to Remember' - a special service for any who have lost a loved one and would like to remember them and give thanks to God for them. It is open to all, so please do come along if you think you might find it helpful.
Then, at 5.45pm, we have our monthly mission prayer meeting, at which we pray for all our overseas mission partners. Again, all are welcome, and it would be lovely to see you there.
Finally, Morgan and Keith would like to say thank you to all those that have already contributed to the Christmas hamper fund for those in need. If you haven't yet given and would like to, then please pass your donation to Julie, or send it to the DBC account, by Friday 10th December. Also, if anyone has any medium-sized cardboard boxes that they could wrap in Christmas paper (with the lids pushed inside) and bring to church before Monday 13th, that would be very much appreciated.
Thanks all,
Nigel
