Thursday 12th August

Today we are continuing to ponder the parables of Jesus in Mark 4. Following on from the sower on Sunday and the growing seed yesterday, it's the turn of the mustard seed today. What was Jesus teaching through this particular kingdom parable and what might it mean for us today? You can have a listen by CLICKING HERE.

We are trying to put a team together to do various pieces of work in the DBC back garden on the morning of Saturday 21st August, in advance of the opening of the Pocket Park next door. We have had only a few volunteers and really need some more, so if you are available to be around that day to help at whatever level you are able, then please do let Julie know.

And now a message from Elaine: The Community Fridge at the Green Pastures Hub is running really well at the moment and I'm very grateful to all the super volunteers involved in helping reduce food waste and making food available to all. We are now open 10-4 Monday-Friday and I am always working to increase what we can offer on our shelves. Is there anyone that would be able to give an hour a week to collect a donation from Aldi and be my contact with their distribution organisation, 'Neighbourly'? If you can help or would like to know more please contact Elaine. Finally, a reminder that the men's group are organising a game of pitch and putt at Silfield near Wymondham at 10am this coming Saturday (14th). The cost is £8 per person and all men and boys are welcome to join them. If you're interested please contact Ian Clarke on 07711 446055 or ian.clarke@archant.co.uk. Nigel
