Tomorrow is the glorious Easter Day when we celebrate Jesus' resurrection... hallelujah! If you are able to, please join us on the Neatherd (far car park past the pond) for the Sunrise service, followed by breakfast at the church.
At 10.30am it will be the All Age service led by Anita - a time to come together and celebrate.
On Friday, 22nd April it is our first Ukraine Support Hub drop in. We don't know if there will be any refugees in Dereham by then (we hope so) but it would be lovely if anyone who is interested in supporting this venture could pop in - even if, going forward, you're unable to do it every week.
For those who love craft - would you be willing to make some ribbon badges to show our support? - Please click here for the YouTube video for more details. I have some yellow and blue ribbon in the office.
Also, Orthodox Easter Day in Ukraine is different from the western church and follows the Orthodox Christian Church'scalendar. People will attend special Easter services and people will get together with family and friends to eat lamb, walnut pound cake and painted eggs that were prepared earlier. This is normally a national holiday with government and business offices closed.
Would anyone like to boil some eggs and get them ready to paint with the children on 22nd? If you have some paint too (or know where there is some in the church), that would be a bonus! Or make an Easter bread? CLICK HEREfor the recipe Paskha, a traditional Ukrainian bread. There are copies of the recipe printed and on the board in the back hall (window side)
The notice sheet can be accessed by CLICKING HERE
The office will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday.
Every blessing,
Julie
