Sunday 10th September 2023

I do hope this email finds you well.

Today we have a number of different gatherings happening:

  • To start with, at 9am, we have the Families Service. This is a service for families around tables, focussing on encouraging faith in the family unit. Today we will be asking the question: 'How can you tell...?'

  • Then, at 10am in Toftwood, we have our first Fishes Sunday gathering in the village hall this term with the theme being on Creation.

  • At 10.30, in the DBC building, we have our usual service beginning a five-part series on the symbols of the Holy Spirit. Today's one is 'dove' and Nigel will be preaching.

  • This evening we have our first Worship Room gathering, where we have an opportunity to come and worship, bring a word, pray or be prayed for. There will be opportunities to express yourself in worship in other ways as well as singing. It is a drop-in, drop-out style from 6.30 - 8.30 so you can come for all or part of it. There is no sermon. Also, if you'd like to be part of helping with this then please let Anita know.

32 Then John gave this testimony: "I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him.33 And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.'34 I have seen and I testify that this is God's Chosen One. (John 1:32-34)

Whichever gathering you choose to be a part of today (It may be more than one), may you know the Holy Spirit with you, in you and around you as you worship God's Chosen One.

Love and Blessings,
