Mark 8 - Sunday 5th September

Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.35 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.36 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?37 Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? Mark 8:34-37

Greetings in Jesus' name.

Today we have a guest preacher - Roy Searle. The above words are from some of the final verses of Mark 8, which will be the focus of our service this morning. Whether Roy will be preaching from those verses or not will be found out during the service.

Today we start our new Sunday service program. This week we will be taking communion together and there will be youth and children's provision. Please do pray for the children, young people and the leaders as they begin an exciting new term.

As a reminder - the new Pocket Park which is being created next to our back garden is having an official opening on Saturday 11th September - that's this coming Saturday! This is a wonderful opportunity for us to engage with our community, as we are providing refreshments for those who come along. You're all very welcome to be a part of that, so why not pop it in your diary and come on down!

As a further reminder, the Mission Prayer group will be meeting at church today at 5.30 PM. If you've never been, do pop in and pray with us for those who are linked to us, serving overseas.

May God bless you Richly as you look to him this day,

Dave
