Blessings, Julie 'Threads through Creation' is an extraordinary, uplifting art exhibition at Ely Cathedral, on show from 14th June to 26th July as part of a nationwide tour of 20 cathedrals. (Some members may have seen it at Peterborough, Bury St Edmunds, or St Albans: now this is the last chance to see it in the east of England – in a particularly wonderful setting.) It took Christian textile artist Jacqui Parkinson three years - and eight million stitches … you could call it evangelism with needle and thread, as the work is inspiring thousands of people – some are travelling literally hundreds of miles to see it. The show consists of twelve beautiful, huge silk panels re-imagining the story of creation from Genesis. You've read it in black and white – now see it in amazing colour! The panels are truly breathtaking. It's a great opportunity for looking at Genesis in a new light – bring along some non-Christians, and there'll be some interesting conversations! Everyone comes out buzzing …See www.creation-threads.co.uk and elycathedral.org (admission charges to the cathedral apply – see cathedral website) Norwich's Phoenix Male Voice Choir presents 'Songs for a Summer Night' in Norwich on Saturday 22nd July at Mile Cross Methodist Church, 341 Aylsham Road, Norwich NR3 2RU and in Cromer on Saturday 29th July at Cromer Parish Church, Church Street, Cromer NR27 9HH.Tickets (£8) are now on sale from the Choir's Website at: https://NorwichPhoenixMVC.org/tix with admittance on the night for non-ticket holders from 7.00pm subject to capacity, all major debit and credit cards being accepted at the door.
