10 I delight greatly in the Lord;
my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11 For as the soil makes the young plant come up
and a garden causes seeds to grow,
so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness
and praise spring up before all nations. Isaiah 61:10-11
I love that opening exclamation of delighting greatly in the Lord...but it is also a challenge as to how delightful we find our Lord. Has what he's done for us caused praise to rise up recently? Today we have that great opportunity to gather together to praise and worship God, to hear something from him together and to experience something of him amongst his gathered church.
I will be finishing off our series on Isaiah 61 in our 10.30 service today using the above verses. Youth and Children's work will be operational.
And... It's Mother's Day. A day to celebrate all who 'mother' us. Have a read of Isaiah 49:15 and be encouraged today.
Here's a reminder from Elaine:
